Aging

"Age does not depend upon years, but upon temperment and health. Some people are born old, and some never grow so."
Tryon Edwards

A healthy lifestyle is one that includes regular exercise, a positive outlook, proper nutrition and adequate sleep. If we strive to achieve this, we can slow the aging process substantially.

SYMPTOMS
Wrinkles, gray hair, lack of muscle tone, age spots, absence of vaginal lubrication.

TREATMENT
Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and increase Omega 6 and Omega 3 vegetable oils and fish oils. Try to increase fibre intake by eating whole wheats and brans instead of white breads and eliminate/reduce saturated fats, sugar and animal products. Make exercise part of your weekly routine, starting out 20 minutes/day, 3 days/week and gradually build from there. Sleep between 6 and 8 hours each night and allow for rest breaks/stress breaks throughout the day. Boost your immune system with antioxidants such as garlic, and Vitamins A,C,& E. Supplement with a multivitamin that contains iron and zinc. Herbs such as Ginkgo Biloba and Grapeseed Extract can assist with vascular problems.

Continue to grow – brain function needs fuel so become a learner – take courses, volunteer, join a club. Not only will this enhance your brain activity, it will release endorphins, giving you more energy and a greater sense of well being.
