Jews are a nation in the ancient sense meaning a group of people with a common history, a common destiny, and a sense that all are connected to each other.
Judaism as a religion is very communal oriented - prayers are normally stated in the plural, prayer is often in communal groups and many observances are family or community-oriented.
Both man and woman were created in the image of God. According to most Jewish scholars, "man" was created with dual gender, and was later separated into male and female. In traditional Judaism, women are for the most part seen as separate but equal. Women's obligations and responsibilities are different from men's, but no less. According to traditional Judaism, women are endowed with a greater degree of "binah" (intuition, understanding, intelligence) than men.
